I work as English - Czech translator especially in the following fields:
- Localizations: websites, software (incl. database systems), computer games, videogames (PC, Xbox)
- Information technology (IT): all computer-related subject matters - hardware, software and network documentation, user guides, promotional texts; telecommunications (mobile phones)
- Business texts: marketing, market research (surveys), business in general, human resources, stock markets
I also work in the field of translation of texts related to culture, religion, sport, and automotive industry.

Text & data formats
I'm able to process a translation from/to:
- Word, Excel, PDF (Adobe), PowerPoint, plain text
- Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe InDesign, PageMaker, Interleaf and other files (thanks to Trados filters)
- CMS (content management system - on-line publishing/editing)
- Other formats as agreed
I'm also able to localize HTML, XML, PHP and other coding languages so that the required parts (excl. or incl. the code) are translated while the functionality of the output file(s) remains unaffected.
CAT tools and other software
The CAT tools (software for computer-aided translation) that I can work with are as follows:
- Trados Studio 2011, Trados Suite 2007 (TagEditor, Workbench, SDLX), MemoQ 5.0, Passolo 2009 & 2011, IBM Translation Manager 6.2.1.
For consistency checks and quality assurance purposes, I use ApSIC Xbench.
I use the following office software: MS Windows 7 Ultimate (multilingual), MS Windows XP, MS Office 2007.
For text control processes, I use PDF XChange Viewer; this application allows for inserting of comments and suggesting a deletion or replacement of a text in PDF files.
Availability & reachability
I'm available on phone and e-mail throughout every day 9 am - 6 pm CET (8 am - 5 pm GMT, 4 am - 1 pm EST, 5 pm - 2 am JST), or as agreed in advance. I can react promptly (usually within just a few minutes) to any e-mail. I'm permanently on-line most of the aforementioned period, and e-mail notifications are forwarded to my mobile phone for the remaining period of time.
